1. W H Smith are a chain of newsagents and stationers and the rule was made for them.
2. The rule itself has a fairly standard selection of scales, all on one face. One slightly unusual feature is the absence of gauge marks (except for p).
3. The rule is included on my site because of the unusual shape of its instruction booklet which measures 46 mm x 210 mm (1.85" x 8.2"). This meant it could go into the case with the rule and without folding. The colour scheme even matched that of the rule (features highlighted in blue!).
